The ride begins with true pomp and pageantry of old-style Rajasthan. Starting with short rides of 8-17km for the first few days it gradually features 35-45km days. This fast-paced ride on the spirited Marwari horses features long gallops in the desert terrain of Nawalgarh and the mural-covered walled city of Shekhawati. Also featured is the wonderful Sambhar Lake, whose salt flats attract flamingos and other wintering water birds like pelicans in the thousands.
