What to Expect...
Our trips range in both price and services. Our prices include all surface services including food, transportation and accommodation. Airfare is not included. Horseback Holidays handles age groups ranging from 17 to 80, though most of our clientele are between the ages of 30-55. Our trips are usually 3 weeks long, but we are able to tailor these to any duration.

The following offers you some insight on you can expect on our adventures in India.
Arrival time: Delhi hotel costing suits British Airways noon arrival in New Delhi. Other flight timings may entail additional nights hotel accommodation.
Hotels: In metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Calcutta and Bombay, accommodation is usually a tourist class hotel such as The Oberoi Maidens, New Delhi or small Guest Lodges. We always endeavor to select hotels noted for their efficiency and charm.
In smaller cities, we usually provide 5-star accommodation or heritage hotels of old world splendor. The latter is especially true of the Rajasthan Tours.
Hotels are on twin share.
Tented camps: There is often a lack of good accommodation in the backcountry in India. In typical Horseback Holidays style, we turn this disadvantage into an advantage. We do so by relying on some of the most elaborate tented camps with as much "full service" as you can get in the desert or the jungle. We have fully furnished twin bedrooms with attached bath, as well as furniture such as bedside tables, carafes, lamps, etc. The tents usually have a front "verandah" with chairs.
Lodges: Private lodges are usually well-run and are often located in forested settings.
Camps: Campsites on treks feature alpine tents, usually two-man, a dining tent, kitchen tent, toilet tents, foam mattresses and camp stools. Trek services include mountain guides, permit fees and porters.
Trains: Overnight train journeys are air-conditioned, with bedding provided. Both Western and Indian toilets are featured.
Other Surface Transport: Non-air-conditioned vehicles are provided, ranging from the old British Morris style Ambassador to newer models of city cars (Honda, Suzuki), or off-road vehicles. At a surcharge, air-conditioned cars are available except in remote locations.
Between major cities, cars in good condition are available. In remote locations this may not always be possible.
For groups, 14- to 40-seater air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned coaches are available and the latter may be hired even for a small group if they wish to spread out.
Meals: Meals are included on a fixed menu basis, except in Delhi, Bombay and Calcutta.
Mineral water is provided at all times except at large city hotels.
Alcohol/laundry are not included.
Tips are at your discretion.
Guide Services: English-speaking guides are included at each location. On transfers from one city to another, guides services are not included on train, air and long road journeys although there is an escort to see you off and receive you at respective stations.
An accompanying tour escort for the entire tour is available for groups of 6+ at no additional charge.
Other fees: All park entry and monument fees, including fees for tourist cameras are included.
Facilitation and orientation, clothing lists, and information on climatic conditions are provided prior to your tour.
