The geographical region of Dhoondwa through which the Dhoond River flows was only one of the earlier acquisitions of the Kushwahas Rajputs. Dhoondwa is today often referred to by the name of its capital - Amber or Jaipur, terminology founded by the British. In fact, renaming was a habit of the British in most states of Rajputana. Marwar, Mewar and Hadavati were also known as Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kotah and Bundi.

The Dhoondwa ride offers some fine spectacles of nature - the Aravali Range in its finest splendor, sand dunes, rivers, lakes and scrub forests. You will also be treated to some fine forts built by the region's former rulers. The ride offers all the majestic elements that Rajasthan has to offer, starting from a distance of only 20km from the capital of Rajasthan - Jaipur. Once on the ride, however, the proximity to the capital is never felt.
