We ride the authentic high country in the Kosciusko National Park, which is home to the mythical "Man from Snowy River" and our outfitters are one of only two allowed into the Park.

IJ's Exotic Int'l Horseback & Polo Holidays offers you the unique opportunity of joining a ride with an Australian sheep and cattle station, which has run this ride for 30 years, without compromise. Further you have the rare opportunity to travel in the best of "THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER COUNTRY" when you ride through the beautiful Kosciusko National Park near Adaminaby New South Wales from the Reynella station. Ryenella's base is a working sheep and cattle property at Adaminaby in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains experiencing Roslyn and John Rudd's mountain hospitality and delicious home fare besides the riding experience as well. The homestead is 40 minutes from Cooma Station on the Snowy Mountains Highway.
Itineraries change depending on weather and wishes of the party, as we are here to please the guests.
For the first night, guests arrive between 5 and 7 pm at Reynella Homestead for dinner and briefing of trek, staying overnight at homestead.
Day 1 of trek, after breakfast, guests will be transported into National Park approximately 35 KM depending on which end of the park our horses will be, This varies according to the previous trip. We sometimes ride from one end to the other. On the first morning we spend tie on the ground as a safety measure and to organize people and horses. We usually depart from the saddling area approx 10.30 am and ride to our first lunch spot at approx 1 pm Lunch is a relaxing time spent near a fresh mountain stream for approximately an hour. We try not to ride in the heat of the day and lunches can be longer. The ride in the afternoon to our camping destination is usually 3 hours. Weather permitting; we usually go for a swim in either lake or river at the end of the day or maybe even at lunch.
This 5-day alpine safari is really the ultimate way to discover the mountains, camping out for 4 nights you have plenty of time to explore this magnificent area. Lunch is usually by a stream river or mountain hut. On a Reynella Alpine Horseback Safari you will visit such places as Currango Plain, Mount Tantangara, Nungar Creek and Murrumbidgee River.
